Early Friden 130 Ad, November, 1964

This advertisement is one of the earliest ads found thus far. Note the nomenclature on the calculator on the first page of the ad: It reads "ELECTRONIC CALCULATOR 130". This nomenclature matches that of the first prototype machine (See the exhibit on the Friden 130 for more information). Later advertising uses "130 ELECTRONIC CALCULATOR", as do the production models of the machine. Another indication of the early nature of this advertisement (found in the November 2, 1964 edition of Newsweek magazine) is the statment that "Friden, Inc. is a subsidiary of The Singer Company". Later references refer to Friden as a "division of Singer".
